Trace
In Trace, large cast shadows are projected onto layers of semi-transparent curtains surrounding the gallery space. The cast shadows continually change and dissolve into one another while moving slowly around the room via a centrally located stand with a rotating top. Like the flower petals of previous installations, these shadows, cast from the windows in my house, are fleeting, inconsequential occurrences of tremendous beauty: documenting the passage of daily life, referencing memory and addressing our inevitable mortality.
