Blanc sur Blanc
Blanc sur Blanc employs paper garbage including mail discards, personal notes as well as debris collected off the street. It has been cut into a floral pattern and carefully stitched to gauze to re-invest it with worth. These materials represents artifacts of the time we live in. In this work, as in post-modern society one disparate, seemingly unconnected idea is placed right next to something equally unrelated. We inevitably try to make sense of things and create relationships between them, at times, resulting in the uncanny.
